“Shoot for the Goal” takes on special meaning for Muskegon Public Schools these days. The school district and community have been on cloud nine since a $104.7 million, two-part bond proposal passed with flying colors.
“Our community voiced its opinion loud and clear,” Muskegon superintendent Matthew Cortez told MLive. “MPS is going in the right direction. This is where we want it to go. This is perfect for our kids. This is huge.”
Dare to dream is the message, which ties right in with the theme of Muskegon Public Schools’ first special guest reader on the district’s Facebook page. Detroit Red Wings’ Justin Abdelkader, a Muskegon native and Mona Shores High School alumnus, read his children’s book “Shoot for the Goal: The Justin Abdelkader Story” in a Facebook video.
