The 2019 "Shoes That Fit" campaign has come to and end, but 1,300 pairs of shoes were provided for students in need.

The "Shoes That Fit" campaign has been sponsored by employees at Ascension Genesys, Hurley Medical Center, and McLaren Hospital for the past 19 years.

The campaign is coordinated by Flint Community Schools and the three hospitals.

School staff identify students who are in need of shoes and then employees of the hospitals buy the shoes.

The campaign ran from November 18th through December 17th allowing students to get their new shoes before they left for Christmas break.

Thirteen hundred pairs of shoes is nearly equivalent to 50 percent of elementary schoolers within the Flint Community School district.
