The School Improvement legislation has been on the books since 1990. The process
of school improvement has been defined, refined, clarified, redefined, etc.
As a result of this activity, much work in the following areas has been provided through higher education, state, national and district initiatives.
Middle Cities Education Association has had the opportunity to work with a number of districts and state organizations in supporting the School Improvement methodology and in implementing the MDE Curriculum Framework. Through that work, we have identified some tools that help districts and buildings analyze their efforts in the complex work of school improvement and provides direction in a way that connects quality professional development with subject matter and with a systems perspective.
The categories below reflect some connector tools and services that we have available now and will allow us to incorporate more in the future.
Please feel free to try these out and to give us feedback.
Note: Some of these materials have been developed through a grant from the Michigan State Board of Education.
