Adult Education Task Force

The Task Force, made up of member Directors of Adult Education, meets monthly to address issues pertaining to adult education funding and quality programming for adult students. Alternative programs for non-traditional students, especially 18-20 year olds, have gained increasing focus. Severe funding cuts and lobbying efforts to stress the importance of helping adult populations earn high school diplomas and GEDs have consumed the Task Force agendas over the last several years. The Task Force meets regularly with representatives of the State Association and MDE to address issues related to program standards, competitive grants, pupil accounting and reporting requirements.
