Visions 2000 Policy and Procedures Manual

This is a constantly updated reference manual given to each member and developed by staff with membership input. The manual is divided into the following four major sections: Trust Administration, Operational Guidelines, Director's Opinions and Risk Control Bulletins. A brief description of each section follows.The Trust Administration section addresses internal Trust policies and procedures. Examples include Trust policies for the administration of reserves, surplus funds and investments. |
The Operational Guidelines section addresses risk control techniques for handling 19 common educational exposures. Examples include model blood borne pathogens exposure control plans, contract guidelines for insurance and indemnification provisions, auto shop repair guidelines, certificates of insurance, coverage for volunteers, use of school facilities, field trips, playground safety, dispensing of medication and incident/claim reporting.
The Director's Opinions section contains position papers or fact sheets on various topics as the need arises. Examples include release of student records and suits filed in small claims court.
The Risk Control Bulletins section contains timely and pertinent risk control bulletins for members addressing specific exposures. Examples include cross-country risk management, possible defects in playground equipment, buses and railroad tracks, animal swings, soccer goals, final rules concerning Federal Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
