About MCEA  /  Workers' Compensation Fund

The Middle Cities Workers’ Compensation Fund was formed in 1993 by several school districts who banded together to control their own destiny by forming a group self-insurance pool for Workers’ Compensation coverage.  The Fund operates with the mission: A Different Approach. The primary goals of the Fund are to provide its members with the proactive risk management, effective claims administration, and prompt and fair treatment of employees.  The Fund focuses on instilling safe practices in schools, prompt and effective treatment of workplace injuries, and the swift return of injured employees to work.

Today, the Fund has 12 members.  The Fund is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the members of the Fund.
